ESTROGEN: Will it effect my gains?
By Doug Dreier
When you talk about testosterone you also usually hear words like estrogen and aromatase.
Most people that use AAS understand that testosterone converts to estrogen (via the aromatase enzyme) this causes problems like bloating, gyno as well as other sides. People have been posting alot about using AI's and asking about how estrogen relates to gains.
Well estrogen is important in building muscle. Estrogen has been connected to increasing GH and IGF-1. Testosterone's effects are dependent on aromatization to esterogen.
If you look at what they give cattle to put on mass its estradiol. If they use only One compound to put mass on they use estradiol (Anthony Roberts did a radio interview on this recently). Estrogen's role is an important one. You hear of alot of people that use AI's reporting that thier gains are greatly reduced . The AI's reduce thier estrogen levels too much which effects Growth factors (GH , IGF) and reduces thier gains.

He's a Bodybuilding? Oh Crap!
By Justin Edwards
Every gym has one of these, if you’re lucky, you may have a few. Wait a minute, did I say lucky? More accurately, if your gym sucks, then you may be “blessed” with a handful. He can be found pressing the biggest dumbbells, the gym has to offer. You may even find him doing 3-inch squats, but it’s unlikely he’s ever touched a leg exercise. Each set he completes, regardless of the movement, produces it’s own full array of loathsome amusement. The sets are fast, the form is sloppy, the weight is typically more then needed, but it’s the aftermath of each set that brings out the very worse in this individual.
The weights slam to the floor in a thunderous roar, not out of necessity, but simply to engage the attention of the incidental passer by. Profanities are squawked; amateurish, oafish and incompetent posing is done not two inches from the mirror. Then it’s time for another set, but not before the rest of the “post set” ritual is completed. First order of business, make intrusive comments to any female with in ear shot.

Peaking
By Coach D
In most coaching circles one of the most highly debated topics is how to properly peak an athlete. There’s several schools of thought on this, ranging from “mini-peaking” athletes throughout the season to “mega-peaking” them for championship games only. Most of this is based on periodization and cyclic training based on that.
Then there’s my school of thought: Don’t bother peaking or periodizing.
I've only got 17 years of coaching experience but at least I started at the top destroying some of the best athletes in the world right from the get go...there's no better learning experience. I realize that peaking athletes is the sacred cow of the coaching world…but I’m hungry and I’ve got a bunch of steak sauce ready.

Is Thomas Edison Stealing Your Muscle Gains?
By Carl Lanore
We’ve all heard the old adage – “early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise”. Well now you can add one more item to that list – increases androgen receptor sensitivity.
In fact the mysterious “biological clock” that some would have you believe doesn’t really exist, its formal name – the Suprachiasmatic Nuclei (SCN) – lies deep in the brain right above the bridge of the nose, and is alive and ticking.
Evidence now exists that its contribution to our daily wellbeing is greater than once thought. It controls the rhythm of our brain and body; through hormone messengers as well as direct neuronal connection to organs, it prepares the body for the oncoming day. At night while we sleep, hormones play like the instruments in a well-orchestrated symphony.

Sumo Deadlifting, The Sgt Rock way!
By Brent Howard
We are going to discuss the sumo (wide stance, hands inside) style. The old adage on sumo pulling used to be, "If you're short do sumo, if you're tall go conventional".
This couldn't be further from the truth. I believe all beginners should first build their foundation by conventional deadlifting, sets of five reps, to build up a great base. That being said, let's get into the nuts and bolts of the sumo.
